Hezbollah Reports Repelling Two Israeli Incursions in South Lebanon
In a series of battlefield communiqués, the group said its fighters detected an Israeli infantry unit attempting to push into the Maabar area on the fringes of Kfartibnit in the Nabatieh governorate, advancing under prolonged artillery bombardment and smoke concealment.
Hezbollah said it drew the force into a pre-set ambush, triggered explosive devices, engaged soldiers with medium-range weapons and followed up with concentrated artillery barrages — ultimately compelling the Israeli unit to pull back.
In a separate incident, Hezbollah said a second Israeli force entered the town of Majdal Zoun in the South governorate, where its fighters engaged the troops with light and medium weapons alongside rockets, destroying several military vehicles in the process.
— Drone Strikes and Armored Vehicle Losses
The group also reported striking an Israeli Yagi military vehicle near the riverbed on the outskirts of Zawtar al-Sharqiya in Nabatieh using an Ababil suicide drone.
Two Israeli Namera armored vehicles were additionally targeted — one at Tallat al-Salha near Qantara in Nabatieh and a second at Tallat al-Hamamis in southern Khiam — both hit by Ababil drones, with Hezbollah claiming direct strikes in each case. A Humvee at Tallat al-Hamamis was also reported hit.
Rocket salvos were launched against Israeli troop and vehicle concentrations on the southwestern outskirts of Majdal Zoun in Jadidat Marjayoun, with three additional strikes carried out on the town's southern perimeter. Two further drone attacks and a rocket barrage were directed at Israeli forces near Kfartibnit.
— Additional Strikes
Hezbollah said it struck an Israeli military bulldozer near Majdal Zoun with an Ababil drone and shelled a newly established Israeli position in Maroun al-Ras with rockets.
A drone strike was also claimed against an Israeli military command center near Yahmar al-Shaqif, with the group reporting a direct hit.
Hezbollah said it intercepted an Israeli Hermes 450 (Zik) drone over the Iqlim al-Tuffah area using a surface-to-air missile, forcing the aircraft to withdraw. Separately, an Israeli force sheltering inside a building in Khiam was targeted with an Ababil drone, while a newly established Israeli artillery position in Adaisseh was struck with a suicide drone — both reported as direct hits.
Hezbollah said the operations were conducted "in defense of Lebanon and its people, and in response to Israel's violations of the ceasefire and attacks on villages in southern Lebanon."
— Israel Maintains Foothold in Southern Lebanon
The flare-up unfolds against the backdrop of continued Israeli military activity in Lebanon, despite a fragile ceasefire that has been in place since April 17 and was extended through early July.
Lebanese authorities reported Thursday that the death toll from the intensifying Israeli offensive since March 2 had climbed to 3,711, with a further 11,483 wounded.
Israel continues to hold territory in southern Lebanon — some areas occupied for decades, others seized during the 2023–2024 war. During the current campaign, Israeli forces have pushed more than 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) past the border, representing their deepest incursion into Lebanese territory since their withdrawal in 2000.
